EU AI Act

The EU's law regulating AI systems by risk level, from banned uses to high-risk systems to minimal-risk ones.

Formally Regulation (EU) 2024/1689. Obligations phase in over several years and the timetable has been subject to change, so check the current dates. It can apply to providers and users outside the EU whose AI is used in the EU.
